about

From Nashville, TN comes the anticipated debut release from Matt Walberg & The Living Situation on Tuesday, May 27. The self-titled EP marks the beginning of Matt Walberg’s songwriting harvest, pulling from life events and literal living situations he, along with many others, have experienced. Matt Walberg’s new musical direction has been described as “Indie Rock with the guttural undertones of an honest American troubadour.”

Written and produced by a California-native turned Nashville entertainer, Matt Walberg has shifted gears from the cult followed weirdo rock troupe H-Beam to a roots-inspired musical endeavor. Tapping into his early passion for classic rock, blues, country and lyric-based songwriting, the Matt Walberg & the Living Situation EP is a return to where it all started for him.

"My goal for The Living Situation was to write songs that worked for a full band but could also be played solo on an acoustic guitar. I spent years writing music based around complex arrangements, so it is great getting back to meaningful lyrics, catchy melodies and carefully crafted compositions."

Supported by local and regional touring with an ever-growing fan base, the Matt Walberg & The Living Situation EP will plant itself into favorite playlists without hesitation. Creative, powerful and endearing from start to finish, a fresh and new life has sprouted for Matt Walberg with The Living Situation.
